Description
The brewery was founded in 1827 under the name Stralsundische Vereinsbrauerei. In 1899 a new multi-storey brewery building was erected at the current site of the brewery. After the reunification in 1991 the brewery was bought by the Nordmann Unternehmensgruppe. In 2010, we began forging a new path. Today we do what we do best: We brew a great variety of top-quality beers, drawing on Hanseatic brewing traditions. To reflect this change, the brewery was renamed Störtebeker Braumanufaktur ('craft brewery') in 2011.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, pilsener golden with a nice head leaving laces. Lightly floral aroma of hops. Medium body with some malt, but otherwise completely dominated by the aroma hops leaving a very solid dose of bitterness. A classical north German pilsener - "Norddeutsch Herb". 211206

Bottle: Cloudy, creamy and stable white head, deep golden coloured; distinctive fruity nose, dominated by bananas; sweet flavour, rather light bodied; sweet fruity finish with hints of vanilla and the faintest illusion of bitterness. O.K., sweet but still refreshing........

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a dark, nutty brown with a creamy, beige head. Discreet aroma of burned malt. Medium body with burned, almost coffeeish notes. Starts very promising until you’re hit by no less than two stickingly sweet artificial sweeteners. Why oh why? 181106

A deep red beer with a thin brown head - looks more like a schwarzbier than a porter. The aroma is sweet malty with light ntoes of caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel, leading to a lightly dry end.

Bottle, 4.9%. Sweet, dusty, fruity hop aroma. Shiny golden colour, OK white head. Fine hop aromatic flavour with a good maltiness. A very pleasant beer, although not very bitter and a little thin.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a beautiful clear, reddish mahogany with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with sweet, roasted malts and accents of dark chocolate. No real bitterness. Really comes through more like a soft Dunkel - bud a good one. 260906

Bottle. Red brown, low brown head. Roasted sugary nose. Very sweet base, light roast, a hint of nuts. Sticky mouyhfeel. Basicly a malzbier with a bit of alcohol, far too sweet and unrefined.

Bottle. Stron coffe roast aroma, fighting hard against the metallic bittering hops. Deep brown, creamy brown head. Nice coffeeish roasted grain up front, nutty and bready middle and bitter counterpoint. Quickbready finish, relatively light body.. Now the roast character of this brew is really nice, if they just could tweak the beer a little bit so that it becomes a bit more harmonic they have a winner.
