Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a deep mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up black patent malt, chocolate and then woody to spicy hoppiness. The taste delivers both highly roasted malts, chocolate malts and a dash of dark roasted coffee. Behind the roastiness are layers of woody to spicy hop bitterness. Very nice.

On tap at Oro, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma has bready malt, toasted caramel, and a touch of English hops. Flavour is dry, with bready malt, toasted caramel, and subdued English hops. Dry, bready and toasted. Pleasant.

On tap at Oro, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is robust, with lots of roasted malt, piney hops, and light earthiness. Flavour is bitter, with lots of piney hops, big roasted malt, and just a hint of sugars. Roasty and very hoppy. Excellent.

On tap at Oro, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has gentle peat upfront, with toasted malt and a hint of roast. Flavour is dry, with medium roast, a tiny hint of peat, and some earthiness. Good malt base, with just enough peat character. Excellent.

On tap at Oro, pours a mostly clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is a bit estery, with gentle rustic notes and soft bubblegum — doesn't seem quite right. Flavour is too estery, with light rustic notes, esters, and some graininess. This isn't on point — too sweet and the yeast isn't harnessed properly.

On tap at Oro, pours a hazy dull golden with a small white head. Aroma is rather dull, earthiness, and bready malt. Flavour is not that assertive, with some stone fruit, bready malt, and earthy bitterness. A bit muddled but it's alright.
