Gift from a friend from a new brewery out in Gifu.
Blade Factory Brewing x Cafe Adachi Kurouchi Coffee Stout 4.5%
Deep black with a tan head of foam that leaves lacing which coats the rim of the glass. Great coffee aroma and flavor. Very roasty almost verging on acrid at times. I quite like this but feel a touch of sweetness would ratchet it up to the next level.

Can. Slightly hazy amber-brown. Nose is caramel, nuts, orange. Sweet caramel flavor, a bit dirty, citrus fruit, quite a bitter finish. Overall a bit muddy and the body is thin. Not much head or carbonation. Dry finish. Needs richer malt and more body.

Nose is pineapple, guava, orange, grapefruit, honey, wheaty malt. Hazy gold with a low head. Medium sweet, juicy flavor, lots of tropical fruit, citrus, wheat. This one too seems a bit low on carbonation, although it kind of works with the style. Soft, silky body. Nice hops. I would like a slightly more bitter finish, though.

Can, mailed from the brewery. Pitch black with a low, lacy brown head. Roasty coffee nose, cacao, cream, roasted barley. Nice balance. A bit fruity too. Light, burnt, barley and coffee, chocolate and cream. Nice flavors. Body is very light and almost flat. Could use more carbonation. Coffee and black chocolate finish.

Can, mailed from the brewery. Bright, hoppy nose. Lemony, orange, herbal. Light, clean malt character. Medium gold, clear, with a low head. Bit of hop haze. Citrus hops, herbal, touch of resin, bready malt. Body is a bit slick and soapy. Also lacking carbonation. Bit of sulfur in the finish. Nice hops overall, but the body needs work and the fermentation is not clean enough.

Tap at Gifu Beer Festival. It seems this was brewed at Camado before Blade had its brewery finished. Fruity nose, tropical fruit, citrus. Dull hazy gold. On the sweet side, fruity, not all that bitter. I like their own beers better. Not bad, though.

Tap at Gifu Beer Festival. Nice nose of tropical fruit, orange juice, light malt. Pale gold, hazy as expected. Fruity flavor, medium sweet and then finishes dry, which is very nice and makes it quite drinkable. Very good for a first batch indeed!

Tap at Gifu beer Festival. Hazy golden color. Yeasty spice nose, lemony, bready. Flavor is spicy Belgian yeast, wheat, citrus. Clean fermentation. Nice, needs just a little more of a kick somehow.

Tap at Gifu Beer Festival. Hazy orange. Nose is citrus and tropical fruits. Wheaty, a bit pithy, nose is more like a NE IPA, flavor is leaning that way too, very juicy and fruity, on the sweet side.
