12 oz. can from Spec's - Boerne, TX. Pours a clear dark mahogany color with a tight beige head and great retention. Lots of spots of lacing. Dark roasted malt aroma. Dark, almost burnt malt flavor mixed with a slight molasses finish. Semi-creamy, thick enough mouthfeel. Medium+body. Smooth, but the finish is a tad harsh. The 8.3% ABV is fairly hidden.

12 oz can from Total Wine, San Antonio, TX. Pours a cloudy apple juice color with zero head and zero retention. Zero lacing. Fruit cocktail aroma. The taste is dominated by grapefruit with only trace amounts of other citrus. Very crisp mouthfeel. Thin, light body with a hint of pulp. Refreshing fruit juice but no beer flavor here.

12 oz can from Total Wine, San Antonio, TX. Pours a mostly clear mahogany color with a beige head and good retention. Spots of lacing. Caramel and bourbon aroma. The taste follows the nose. Dark caramel, light bourbon and molasses flavor with some winter spices and a little hops and booze in the finish. Not my favorite profile. Medium body. Average mouthfeel.

12 oz can from Total Wine, San Antonio, TX. Pours a clear pale gold color with a white head and good retention. Almost no lacing. As expected, has a bready aroma. Flavors of bready and pale malts and a little sweet. Lightly crisp mouthfeel. Soft body. Simple profile but it works. Very clean and smooth with no bitterness. Easily repeatable.

12 oz. can purchased at Total Wine - The Rim, San Antonio, TX. Pours a crystal clear light yellow color with a bright white head and fair retention. No lacing. Lightly sour malt aroma. The taste follows the nose. Crisp, corny pale malts and not much else. Kinda stale tasting. Low carbonation. Generic and forgettable.

I have a 12 oz can brought to me from Houston by my son. Nice label, different I opine. I like imperial stouts in the broad spectrum, pleased to have this opportunity for a Texas version. Using my favored ABGB snifter on this sampling. A pleasing scent, molasses, charcoal and chocolate. An almost pure black appearance with a moderate head of light tan. I take a drink, chocolate, ash, grain and a small berry influence. Some thinness in the mouth, I’d like it better with some heft.

Lately my local craft beer store has been handling quite a number of new IPAs and I purchased this 12 oz can a couple of weeks ago. My can indicates 5.3% ABV just to pass along. A tribute to Houston area brewing, I’m using a Karbach shaker glass. The presentation is a hazy pale yellow-orange with a decent pure white head. I get a restrained scent of citrus and grain. Ah, the taste is much more aggressive. Hoppy, pine cone, meadow, honeydew melon and a swell bitterness. Thick on the tongue. Nice on a hot summer day.
