16 oz can from the brewery. Foamy tan pour, a little fizzier than a similar imperial stout. Brownish black appearance. Light smoke in the nose, not overdone like a Bamburg initiation that becomes a ham or cheese. Taste offers hardwood smoked malt instead of a campfire. Nicely stated.

16 oz can. Light malt and vanilla nose just under the tab. poured straight into the glass resulting in a very tall head that is resolving into light foam and a little more beer. A deep amber beer is underneath. The nose is still rather light in the glass: again, just some light malts and a bit of vanilla. But, there is some mild roast coffee from the first sip, playing off the vanilla edge. Coffee ends up dominating, but just by a slight margin, work the rest of the profile not far behind. Hops are only apparent as a takedown of the malt sweetness.

Taster at RE. Lovely sweet strawberry note. Don't catch any of a tea note, just some of that fruitiness, working well with the blonde ale lightness.

TAster at RE. Hazy yellow color, topped by a thin ring of foam. Taste has a nice malty beer taste accented by a kind of peppery noble hop, and unexpected sharp bitterness.

Draft taster at RE. Syrupy nose, very bourbony. Color is kind of light, more like an imperial red ale, but quite smooth. A big bourbon vapor note. If I wasn't driving, I'd have gone in for a full glass.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2019. Pours a cloudy earthy brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark grains, roasted malts and a bit of light garlic underlying. Flavor has dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of growing garlic.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2018. Pours a hazy orangish yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of earthy citrus, a bit of sweetness, a hint of rye and a good amount of tropical fruits. Flavor has orange juice and citrus rind with sweet grains and a slight hint of rye.
