Description
A true Lyon institution, it was founded in 1836 by Georges Hoffherr, an Alsatian from a family of brewers. Our project was born from a meeting between professionals and enthusiasts of the brewing industry. A meeting in a legendary place in Lyon's culture, the Brasserie Georges, where Georges Beers have been brewed for about ten years in a microbrewery. A long-abandoned operation, we were keen to revive in 2004.

From our shared passion and the complementarity of our backgrounds, a natural result was born this desire to promote and share these beers with the enthusiasts who flock to the brewery to toast with friends and family.

We have thus rediscovered the pleasure of sharing distinctive beers with strong personalities that made Lyon's breweries famous during their Golden Age.

Our ancestors were familiar with the famous Munica Brune and Pilza Pale! In 2017, our goal is to revive Georges Beers in bottles and introduce you to our master brewer's creations.

A long-matured project, through which we hope to create pleasure and emotion in all enthusiasts, a tribute to Georges the creator and to our predecessors, a desire to perpetuate this valuable heritage, made possible thanks to our host, La Brasserie La Grihète® with whom we had the pleasure of collaborating.

Draft at the brewpub. An unclear dark golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw as well as lighter notes of phenol and burnt malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish where the notes of straw and phenol lingers.

Draft at the brewpub. A hazy golden golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is rustic with notes of straw, malt, and grain. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, something burnt, and a bit of phenol. Some sort of brewing flaw.
