On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a murky orange with no head whatsoever. The aroma is fruity with tangerines to the fore and traces of floral hops. In the mouth it’s mainly sweet and tangy but with a little bitterness included. Plenty of floral hops and citrus, with oranges noticeable. Hints too of nuts and tropical fruit plus spices in the finish. It’s OK, but basically it’s alcoholic orange squash.

On tap at Ebenezers. Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal tan head and good lacing. There’s roast malts and some hints of chocolate in the aroma. Chocolate more to the fore in the mouth where it is slightly sweet. Cola and liquorice are also there from the start, and later on roasted malts and traces of coffee and dark fruits come through as well. More fruitiness in the finish. This is pretty good - I will certainly be looking out for other Silent beers.
