Can at Macs bar, recommend by the bartender. Hazy orange golden with off white head. Orange, mango, sweet rye and caramel, resinous hops as well, with some grass and bitter herbs in the finish. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit creamy feel. Nice balanced rye IPA.

16 ounce can into pint glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours fairly clear golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and compelxity of citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing though the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky/resinous, and lightly bready/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a nice American pale ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass; with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, chocolate, light cocoa/coffee, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, chocolate, light cocoa/coffee, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, chocolate, light cocoa/coffee, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from hop bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice American brown ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Can. Pours a clear orange with a slight gold hue and a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of rye and dank pine with a bit of grass underlying. Flavor has pine up front with growing rye and a bit of a dankness in the finish.

Pours dense pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Awesome appearance. Aromas of big dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, light vanilla, light smoke/char, herbal, light pine, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, cocoa/coffee, and moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, light vanilla, light smoke/char, herbal, light pine, and roast/toasted earthiness. Moderate herbal/pine hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, light vanilla, herbal, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, cocoa/coffee, and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast malt/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and moderately sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding imperial coffee stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, cocoa/coffee, and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange rind, pine, caramel, spicy rye, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness/rye spice that increases through the glass, along with lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and lightly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent rye IPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. There is a significant amount of spicy rye character; but it is not overpowering, and compliments the resinous hop character really well. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at Logan’s Alley. Pours black with a very dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of coffee with dark grains and roasted malts supporting. Flavor has roasted malts and coffee up front with a strong dark grain backbone.
