Pale amber, medium head. Big toasty malt aroma, it’s fresh and appetizing even though it kind of dominates the leafy hops. Sweetish…again a really nice malt character, with spicy, leafy hops and medium bitterness.

Amber-brown. Not much head. The aroma has a nice light smoke character with vaguely red malt notes. Very sour. So, smoky and sour. Here’s the odd thing - this beer wins awards. The bottle I had was an extra from what was entered into judging. To me, that shows that there is tremendous bottle-to-bottle variability. So while in many cases people find this beer clean and tasty, it is not reliably so. May I have the opportunity to try it in better condition next time.
