Dark roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, bourbon, oak, warming alcohol and a hint of brown sugar. Rich and satisfying. A slow sipper.

Crowler from the Brewery, purchased 2/16/20, consumed 2/17/20. Palindromic Rating #8588! Darker orange-red color, mostly clear, with a nice, foamy fizz of beige head. Big pine, resin hop nose, with some underlying citrus and tropical notes, bit of caramel, and a little bread. Taste is full on bitter hops, with a strong pale malt backbone to it as well. Soft carbonation, very dry. Hides the ABV well too. While this certinaly isn't a perfect beer, you don't see a lot of IPAs this unapologetic about their bitterness these days, and so this made me happy. Maybe I wouldn't have rated it so high in 2012, but it's scarcity in today's market makes it stand out.
