We spend our waking hours taking a second look at what defines a traditional style, and from there, we give the recipe boundaries a bit of a nudge. Yeah sure it might not please the Purity Police, and for that, trophies for “correctness” may elude us.
Keep this to yourselves… but actually, we’re good with that.

Can. Clear pale gold with a modest white head. Aroma of mandarin, pineapple, lychee, some mango, crackers. Really quite sweet with lots of fruit before a bitter finish that struggles to cut through a little.
Good. Decent meaty stout with the sweetness of hokey pokey & good dollop of chocolate. Not OTT but not a quaffer, obviously.
Can't remember details but nice. Now out of production.

(Can) Pours black with big beige head. Very nice aroma of roasted grains, with chocolate hints. Medium body with plenty of soft carbonation. Good taste with a fair bit going on. It’s got a clear porter base and a good one at that. Layer on that is chocolate and orange. The Orange is present from the start and persist through most of the palate. The chocolate builds steadily and is dominant in the finish. Very enjoyable.

330ml can. Pours a slightly hazy gold orange with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves sticky curtains of soapy lace. Aroma of caramel malt, orange and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of caramel malt, mango, pineapple and pine resin in a dry, bitter, slightly alcoholic finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Enjoyable.

Can. Clear amber, a dense cm+ of cream head that hangs around OK. Majestic pine, stickyish breadcrust and kumquat aroma. Hints of richness but only a little sweet with swelling pine and tenor register citrus before a bitterness that grips gradually. Very good.

Very full can. Clear amber, white head. Aroma of biscuit, tropical fruit, pine. Sweet with biscuit into mango and some stone fruit before pine and some pepper at the moderately bitter finish. A bit more bitterness would have suited me, but pretty good.

Can. Very clear gold with a cm of white head. Aroma of kumquat, lychees, peach, Asian pineapple, light biscuit. Quite sweet with biscuit and lots of fruit. Modest bitterness. How is this 8% ABV?

Canned at Black Dog Bar, Te Anau. Clear golden with small white head. Sourish, citrus, this seems infected.
