11/08 Draught at the brewpub. It poured deep golden body with medium sized head. Aroma of honey, some chalky yeast notes, lemony hops. Flavor was similar to Helles, but slightly sweeter with distinct honey notes. Thinner, watery. Finish was slightly sweet, honey of course with herbal hop and chalk in the background. An interesting summer beer, though pretty watery as well, so only slightly better than Helles, which was obviously used as a base.

11/08 Draught at the brewpub. It poured clear darker brown body with medium sized brown head. Weaker coffee and caramel aroma, some dark fruits as well. Very fine coffee flavor, typically dry, touched with raisins and dark chocolate. Full bodied for usually watery style. Sweetish finish, fine caramel and chocolate dominating there. A nice schwarzbier and best beer in this brewpub.

11/08 Draught at the brewpub. Called Dunkel on the menu, supposedly it’s Urmarzen in real, being one of the two beers they regularly have throughout the year. It poured only slightly hazy reddish to pale brown body with medium sized head. Caramel and nice toffee aroma, touched with herbal hops. Fine caramel and fruity flavor, slightly sweet with yeasty notes and rather tasty. Medium to fuller body, longer pleasant sweet caramel finish. Fine enough, not overly sweet as those might get.

Rating #1300
11/08 Draught at the brewpub. It poured almost clear yellow body with medium sized head. Honey and flowery malt, touch of lemon hops, dusty aroma. Chalky and herbal hop flavor, though nice, it was watery. Slightly dusty and gets a bit better as it warms. Pretty long herbal and chalky finish. Just OK, better than most macros, but misses lot of body and it is not too interesting.

Draught at the brewpub. Maria Gail is village few kilometers away from Villach with not more than 400 residents.
Dark amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, bready nose with hint of alcohol. Sweet malty, bready and alcoholic with notes of fruits. Peppery metallic notes in the finish and aftertaste. Not so watered as other two but still far from the very good bock.

Draught at the brewpub. Maria Gail is village few kilometers away from Villach with not more than 400 residents.
Slight hazy yellow coloured, medium sized white head, mild fruity nose. Malty, slight hoppy herbal and strong butterscotch taste with touch of fruits near the finish. Unfortunately watery as all other Turmbräu beers.

Dark golden/pale amber coloured, small off-white head that went away slowly, slight malty nose. Sweet malty, hoppy and fruity with watery palate. Short sweetish finish. Quite boring beer.
