Description
You’re probably here for the stouts, that’s what we are most known for. There’s no line we won’t cross in that area, and we appreciate the love we receive for our interpretations of that style. With beer, you’re always learning, experimenting, and tweaking something. We consider our beers forward thinking, and we don’t always brew to style. Somehow we won a gold medal for our pilsner though, so we can follow the rules if we want to.
We don’t intend on being a one-note brewery and are constantly pushing ourselves to do more. At any given time our tap list will feature a variety of styles, stouts, and IPAs being more common, but we make a lot of sours and porters as well. We don’t serve flights but do have 5oz. pours. Our staff is very knowledgeable and can help you find the perfect beer for your taste.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours black, almost no head. Nose is full of cognac barrels upfront, subdued bourbon, some dark sugars in there. Flavour is extremely intense, with over-the-top, with brutal sugars, intense cognac, some bourbon, and more sugars. Extremely thick, almost smoothie-like palate. Yeah, this is a high-effort beer, but it’s far from refined. Good but this city boasts better such efforts.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of maple syrup, light cinnamon, some coffee, and big bourbon barrels. Flavour is intense, with huge coffee and maple syrup upfront, accentuated by the bourbon barrels; there’s some vanilla in there and plenty of sugars. I like the coffee in here, which cuts down on the perceived sweetness, though it’s still very sweet. Excellent BA coffee pastry.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of big bourbon barrels, dark fruit, bready caramel, and brown sugar. Flavour is rich and complex, with intense bourbon barrel depth, rich brown sugar, molasses, and toasted caramel. Lovely barrel character, wonderful malt, good amount of sugars. Fantastic.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is full of bright oranges, chocolate, and dark sugars. Flavour is a diabetes bomb, with exceedingly sweet sugars dominating, huge chocolate-covered orange, and more sugars. Pretty cloying despite the nice chocolate orange character. Good but tough to drink more than an ounce of.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours a clear urine greenish yellow with a small white head. Aroma has a fake watermelon character, with syrupy egregiousness in the back. Flavour is pretty similar, with fake watermelon syrup, sugars, ugh… what’s the point. Nonsense.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours a hazy amber red with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of lactose, marshmallows and a touch of fake raspberry syrup. Flavour is egregious, with cloyingly sweet raspberry syrup, some tartness, and marshmallow. Abominable nonsense.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma reveals bitter piney hops, some citrusy zest, and dry bready malt—though not sure the hop expression is dialed in all that well. Flavour is on the sweeter side for a DIPA, but it was well-hopped, with lots of resinous hops, pine, sweet malts, and caramel. Finishes a bit too sugary and moderately bitter. Good but not all that well-constructed.

On tap at Angry Chair, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma of almost nothing, with a little straw, not much else. Flavour is dry and clean, with straw, not much else. Just a crisp, clean, dry pale lager. Good enough for what it aims to be.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a tan head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has caramel and cookie with bourbon, vanilla and a bit of rum underlying. Flavor has more bourbon up front with sweet dark grains, caramel and a growing rum note.
