On tap at Angry Chair, pours black, almost no head. Nose is full of cognac barrels upfront, subdued bourbon, some dark sugars in there. Flavour is extremely intense, with over-the-top, with brutal sugars, intense cognac, some bourbon, and more sugars. Extremely thick, almost smoothie-like palate. Yeah, this is a high-effort beer, but it’s far from refined. Good but this city boasts better such efforts.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black. Bourbon, cognac, raisins, dried fig, caramel, cherry, biscuit, booze, hazelnut. Nice oily body. Outstanding.

Stacked like a certified man-pile. Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a deep dark chocolate body with dark tan edges and supporting a thin ring of tan bubbles. The aroma offers up inviting clouds of reduced molasses and caramel like sugars as well as boozy deep dark chocolate and then a hot hit of boozy barrel character at the end of the draw. The taste is slick and slippery with richness. I get malt sweetened and molasses sweetened dark chocolate heading into a soft simmering boozy spirit character. Toward the finish a molasses sweetness rises up a tad to meet the dark chocolate creating further depth.

Bottle shared at CBJ - cheers team. Pours clear deep brown with a slight, foamy tan head. Big sweet flavour, loads of stewed berries, dark malts, toasted caramel. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more berries, thick dark malts. Really damn good stuff.

Bittle shared at the craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. Many thanks. A super thick black brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, sticky brown sugars, boozy sherry, woody vanilla, brown sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet medium sweet, oily, vanilla, sherry, dark sherry, dried fruit, sticky pancake batter, leathrty. Intense.

Craft Beer Junction bottleshare, thanks to the team. Near clear dark brown beer, no head. Smooth and viscous palate, modest fine carbonation. Soft and viscous malts, a good creamy sweetness, caramel and chocolate. Smooth and rich bourbon soaked fruits. Modest spice. Soft viscous finish. Excellent beer, bit on the bubble between barleywine and Impy.

Draft: Poured a black with a brown ring head. Aroma is rich fudge chocolate, malty, light dark fruit. Taste is a big bold roasted malts, chocolate, the dark fruits, boozy, bourbon twinge, those barrels stick to it.
