Murky black with some creamy, off white head. Nose is oddly fruity. Not a fan when these Black IPAs go with new school hops. This might even be misplaced Mosaic. Malt is there, as is some licorice and pine and soap. Flavor is clearly C hops layered with something new school, maybe Citra? Could be Galaxy. I can't enjoy this beer because the fruitiness needs to be picked apart. There's some soap here too, toast and a little caramel. Off dry finish with a little bite and a little bitterness. Some coffee grounds. 5 4 6 3 11

16oz pint at the brewpub pours a lightly hazy copper color with some creamy, off white back. Nose is malt and caramel and toffee, some toast. Flavor is butterscotch and toffee and malt. Chewy too. Some toast. Off dry finish. Decent for the style.
