On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a near black body with a large tan head and good lace. Aromas are dusty, cocoa, roast, light coffee, bready, medium esters and earthy. Flavors show medium earth, leather, soil, toasty, bitter, medium roast, light lactose and a hint of anise. Some lingering coffee, medium bubbles with a fuller body. Pretty good, but for their darker beers, the Java Porter gets my vote.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a large and fluffy white head. Aromas are of pine, citrus, medium tropical fruit, orange, and a bit nutty. Medium malt presence. Flavors are estery and medium sweet (too sweet for my palate), tangerine and tamarind. Medium bubbles and a strong, lingering bitterness. Alcohol adds to a stickiness. Lingering sweet.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a hazy golden hued body with absolutely no head. Aromas are strongly floral, perfume, chamomile, coriander, light vanilla, tangerine and orange peel. Flavors are grainy, bready and a touch (maybe a bit too) sweet. Some coriander, grains of paradise, orange. Light hint of suntan lotion and pineapple. A bit of lasting citrus (grapefruit). Medium bubbles (surprising considering the complete lack of head). Light alcohol noted (odd), medium bodied. Pretty good overall.

On tap at the source. Pours with a hazy brown body (looks like they miss scaled their SRM a little bit) with a minimal off-white head. Aromas are strongly of coffee, vanilla, toffee, earthy. Regular American/Starbucks -esque roast, nothing too exotic but good none the less). Flavors are of your regular roasted American Coffee. Maybe a touch less bitter. Lightly bready. Medium bodied, lighter bubbles. A bit of a one note, but tasty.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a lightly hazed amber hued body with a small, off-white head that fades and leaves some lace. Aromas are fruity, caramel, estery and a light hop note. Flavors show a light bitterness, caramel, esters, fruity and lightly grainy. Medium carbonation and body. Decent amber ale. Not as hoppy as I would have thought reading their description (maybe they are still dialing this one in?).

On tap at the brewery. Pours dead flat, no head and minimal signs of carbonation. Hazed slightly deeper golden hue. Aromas are of esters (banana among them), light nutmeg, 4VG (clove) and a light salinity/minerality. Flavors are good. Spicy, clove, light bready and grainy malt notes. Some esters. Not extremely to style in its yeast character, but still pretty good. Some marmalade and floral notes. Very lightly carbonated which makes the body feel a touch flabby. Tasty though. Didn’t get any of the purported 11% ABV (the Wit seemed to have slightly more alcohol flavors surprisingly). When properly conditioned this could be a very tasty big belgian ale. I look forward to re-rating it.
