Champion brewing company is Virginia's most progressive brewery, producing a wide variety of ales in two locations: our downtown Charlottesville tap room and our Belmont production facility. Our production brewery known as the 'missile factory' produces our core and seasonal beers on a 30-barrel brewhouse, at a current operating capacity of 15,000 barrels per year. Our original tap room produces constantly changing and innovative seasonals, one-offs, and barrel-aged wild beers.

Sample at Gabf. Pours a hazy yellow gold with small frothy white head. The aroma is citrus and grass. Medium body, grass, earth malt, light bitterness, good.

Tap at brewery last night - met Drake there (finally!). I must admit I did not take great notes on this one: "nice spice: cinnamon and nutmeg. Tasty."

Tap at brewery. Pours reddish brown, small soft beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, potato water (yea), light bubblegum. Flavor is dark fruit, including plum, chocolate malts, glue, paper, somewhat dusty. It’s not bad. Not my favorite.

Tap at brewery. Heavy cat piss aroma, which as I’ve said before is good - not that I enjoy the smell of cat piss, pine, grapefruit rind Flavor is pine all over the effing place, cat piss (above note), cracker, white pepper. Another good offering by champion.

Tap at brewery. Pours golden with a small white head. Good, strong aroma: pine, grapefruit, citrus peel, light cat piss, and floral hops. Flavor is crisp pine, citrus peel, light floral notes, and a hint of vanilla. Finishes on the bitter side. Quite tasty.

12 ounce can from Wine Warehouse. Hazy copper, medium creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malt with a bit of cherry. The taste is toasted malt, herbal hops, a bit of hay. Medium bodied, dry, mild lingering bitterness. Solid.

12 ounce can. Dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, nuts, vanilla. The taste is nuts, caramel, spice. Medium bodied, lingering spice.
