Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Very dark, chestnut brown. Ring and film of dense, tan head. Viscous and leggy. Good looker. Nose has sweet liquorice. Blackcurrant. Some charred wood. Notes of ground coffee and milk chocolate. Taste has some black treacle sweetness. Turns woody, charred bitter. Medium to full body. Pretty smooth. Doesn’t feel the ABV. Light, charred wood bitter finish, with a dark fruit and chocolatey sweetness on the lips. Nice one.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, amber gold. Thick, bubbly, lasting, off white head, with a dense, creamy middle. Looks great. Nose has butterscotch malts. Spicy, bready, fruity saison yeast character. Hint of fusty orange hop. Taste has dessert apple sweetness, with some light, acetic tang. Foamy mouthfeel. More of the tang. Brown sugar sweetness on the finish, with the acetic thing at the end. Not sure this is as the brewer intended.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, dark ruby red. Thick, dense, lasting, sticky, beige head. Nicely leggy. Looks fantastic. Nose has liquorice. Tangy vine fruit. Sweet date. Hint of clove and banana esters. Some sweet milk chocolate in the background. Taste is sweet, estery and chocolatey. Some vine fruit, estery dryness. Smooth, silky mouthfeel, that hides the ABV really well. Fruity, sweet, estery finish. By no means my favourite beer style, but this is great stuff. Wow.
