Tap: Hazy, deep golden to light amber coloured, loose but stable off-white head; moderate to robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full(!) bodied, unfortunately a bit fizzy; sweet malty to toasty nose with a mild herbal bitterness in the background; slightly lingering sweetish toasty-bready finish with a robust, balancing, hoppy tail and a mild alcohol-burn in the aftertaste.A nice winter-warmer…

Sample courtesy of Erzengel, big thanks. brown color, small tan head. smells milky, earthy, grassy, ripe fruits, some sweetness, honey. ok smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes nutty, earthy, some sweetness, marzipan, ripe fruits, doughy, peppery, hints of alcohol. finishes rather balance with light roasty notes and some marzipan, ripe fruits and peppery notes. rather decent one, but not overly special, very very (too) classical bock, nothing that sticks out and makes you excited for more. still overall decent.

Gezapft: Golden with an orangey sheen, hazy, medium-sized loose white head; moderate dryish herbal-hoppy nose with yeasty traces, grainy pale-malt underneath; mild to moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied and a bit tart; lingering herbal-hoppy and grainy finish. All in all quite good by Dortmund standards, but a bit unharmonic.Franconian samples are better…

0.3 l on tap at 'Bergmann Kiosk'. Hazy, orangeish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, grassy and slightly fruity aroma of grains, honey, straw and some orange peel. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, quite grassy and slightly fruity taste of grains, straw, honey and some orange peel, followed by a short, medium bitter, quite grassy and slightly dry finish. Medium body, smooth and almost creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

Bottle. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, oxidized, vanilla, molasses, lightly herbal. Taste is vanilla, herbal, chocolate, malty, very sweet. Rather fizzy carbonation. Too sweet and too oxidized, but if you like that, then it's fun.

Bottle. Light oxidized rye bread aroma. Hazy dark chestnut, golden lace. Aged Bock start, wooden, light vanilla, herbal hops, a hint berry and allspice. Medium body. I want to try the fresh Adam instead.
