bottle, mit Dank an pivnizub. Clear amber-golden colour, mid-sized white head. Grainy malt flavours with some shy hops. A bit sweeter than their Export, I think.

Hell getreidiger Bitterantrunk, der im Mittelteil etwas breiter wird und einen süßlichen Unterton erhält. Frisch, angenehm, leider nicht sehr würzig. Zum Ende süß-getreidig, ein wenig Hopfen. Trockener Abgang. 8/9/9/9/9/9

33cl bottle pours a nice clear amber with copper edges and mocha head. The aroma is softly mineral and metallic with notes of dark fruit esters along with some chocolate and dark roasted malts. The taste is smooth and subtle with some dark fruity esters mixing with light notes of chocolate malts, dark roasted malts and a faint sense of molasses. I’ve been Bergmanned.

Bottle: Clear, golden to deep golden, small - but stable - white layer; grains, chalk and boiled milk in the nose, hops are hardly detectable; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, a bit fizzy; bready fruity finish with a distinctive bitterness in the aftertaste. A simple miner’s drink, drinkable nevertheless....
