(33cl bottle) Clear, deep mahogany colour with a moderate, beige foamy head. Medium-sweet dark malty nose with light burnt notes and a distinctive touch of chocolate. Bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Dark and roasty leafy taste with notes of chocolate and liquorice; moderately dry and bitter finish that lacks a bit body and length (18.08.08).

(33cl bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized blonde foamy head. Sweet papery malty nose with a grainy touch and shy hops in the background. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a light carbonation. Stale and cardboard-like malt-character; slim papery malty finish with bitter hops, becoming a bit harsh at the very end (27.08.08).

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also, very zippy, nice head. Starts modest spicy, the finish is a bit sourish and dry. Nevertheless very drinkable. Not bad!

Bottle: Chestnut-amber coloured, small, persistent off-white layer; moderate roasted-malty nose, hiding some fruitiness and caramel or molasses; mild bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; faint sourish-fruity traces in the mild, not extremely dry caramelly finish. A well drinkable coal-miner’s refreshment...........

Leichter Getreidegeruch. Trockener Malzantrunk mit herbem und eigen wirkendem Beiton. Im Mittelteil mild Getreidig, trotz der Milde wirkt das Bier hier vollmundig. Nun wird das Bier etwas süßer, das Malz röstiger, hier wirder der Schwarzbier-Charackter erkennbar, vorher wirkte es doch eher wie ein normales Dunkel. Im Nachgeschmack spielt das Malz nur eine untergeordnete Rolle, neben der sehr leichten Hopfigkeit steht hier die Herbe im Vordergrund, der kurze bittere Ton verfliegt schnell. Besonders im Vergleich zu den anderen DBB Bieren scheint die Aussage, man habe etwas geübt, zu stimmen. Gelungen. Test vom 12.3.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,11,10,11,12,11 - 10,60

Herb-malziger, etwas scharfer Antrunk. Milder werdend, malzig-getreidig, etwas muffig. Eher lasch und wässrig wird das Bier, auch wenn die Getreidigkeit nicht abflacht. Etwas bitter. Was man dem Bier lassen muss: Es ist sehr spritzig, der Hopfen ist gut eingesetzt. Test vom 21.12.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,9,9,9,7,9 - 9,20

Etwas kratzig-herber Antrunk, zudem plörrig. Mittelhopfiger Mittelteil, frisch, die Plörrigkeit nimmt mit jedem Schluck ab. Ein kurzer Fuchtton ist kaum auszumachen, durch eine leichte Sauernote wird dies dann sowieso eliminiert. Der etwas saurer Hopfen steht im Nachgeschmack nun alleine und schlägt sich dort recht wacker. Test vom 20.12.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,9,11,8,8,9 - 9,20

Bottle, thanks pivnizub. Curiously strong almond aroma - rather like italian almong cookies. Golden low head. Fairly lightbodied, slightly grainy - almond cookies again. Bland watery center, herbal bitter finish. Watery finish.
