750 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2014 vintage bottling. Pours lightly hazy deep orange amber color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart cherry, green apple, lemon peel, tangerine, pineapple, red wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, light pine, leather, musty funk, light pepper, light vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, hops, and oak barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of tart cherry, green apple, lemon peel, tangerine, pineapple, red wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, light pine, leather, toast, musty funk, light pepper, light vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Good amount of fruity/oaky tartness and slight bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart cherry, green apple, lemon peel, tangerine, pineapple, red wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, light pine, leather, toast, musty funk, light pepper, light vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, oak barrel, and hop flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately acidic, and slightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Sour DIPA. All around good complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, oak, and hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering.

From a 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark copper with a bubbly off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of resin with lots of malt showing through. Smooth, slightly bitter finish.

750ml bottle pours a murky, near black with a ring of white head. Nose is what you’d expect, a bit of vinegar, cooked greaks, cola, blood orange, wood pulp, stale cola, intense sour dough bread. Flavor is tart, acetic, vitamin C, some vinegar, wood pulp, medicinal. Finishes tart and oily.

Bottle (2013) with thanks to northernbrews! Pours crystal clear amber with a small off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving some lacing. Aroma is tart oaky lemon. Flavor is medium tart, fruity, lemon, oak, a bit of white grape, touch of musty funk. Medium body, low carbonation. Pretty tasty, but drinks like the base beer of something else...

12 oz bottle. Pours a completely hazed orange amber with some particles and an off-white head. Aroma strong on caramel and biscuit with hints of citrusy hops. Flavor is slightly stale biscuit with caramel, some citrus and berry and even a bit of bourbon. Definitely an older bottle, but there is still a little something about it.

Pours lightly hazy reddish orange color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, caramel, spicy rye, toast, floral, grass, and floral/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus hops and caramel/rye malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, spicy rye, toast, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, spicy rye, toast, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and solid complexity of juicy citrus hops and moderate caramel/rye malt sweetness; with a good bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, moderately creamy, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice imperial rye ipa. Good balance and robustness of juicy citrus hops and moderate caramel/bready rye malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Spotty foamy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, dark bread, light char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of bready/roasted malt notes with light-moderate hops; and good strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, dark bread, light char, herbal, light raisin, and roasted earthiness. Fair amount of herbal/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roast, dark bread, toast, light char, herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of bready/roastedmalt notes with moderate hops; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, and moderately creamy/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice dry stout. All around good balance and robustness of bready/roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
