(swing top bottle, purchased at the brewery) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Slightly biscuity malty aroma with a tinge of honey and flowery, subtle fruity hops. Mildly sweet flavour, light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Initially sweet and biscuity (cara-)malty taste with a delicately flowery and fruity hops-character drying the beer towards the sweet and slightly bitter finish. Balanced and moreish Kellerbier. 24.IV.12

Bottle (purchased at the brewery): Hazy, golden, smaller foamy layer, mainly wheat and cloves in the aroma; moderate sweet-tart flavour, light to medium bodied; sweetish, a bit more citrousy-fruity finish with cloves in the aftertaste. Not very nice, too clovey.....

Bügelverschlußflasche (in the brewery-tap): Hazy, very pale golden coloured, mid-sized loose white head that almost refuses to collapse; deep resinous-aromatic hoppy nose with the usual sweet pale-malty background; very robust sweet-bitter flavour, rather light bodied without being watery, soft MF; long and longer resinous-hoppy finish, balanced by sweet pale malt and a discreez peachy fruitiness. a gorgeous mixture of a well hopped Pilsner and an almost perfect franconian Kellerbier....... Ein würdiges zweihundertstes Kellerbier !

On tap at the brew-pub: Golden coloured, mid-sized and lacing white head; mild, but distinctive citrousy-herbal-hoppy and sweet-pale-malty aroma; light bitter-sweetish flavour, soft MF, light bodied; delicate aromatic-hoppy finish. Not bad, but not very aromatic.........

Small off-white head, reducing itself to rim; foxy-amber beer. Very fresh vanilla-bean nose, bit of cardemom, and then - buttery, diacetyl-laden; creamy toffees. Taste is suitably different. Again caramel & toffee, but drier, way less buttery, extra dimension of dry autumn leaves. Slight hint of strawberry. Slick, medium bodied at least. Beer falls a bit flat, no aftertaste. Warming up, the diacetyl comes creeping in a bit all the same. The smell made me fear of a diacetyl bomb. Thank God that isn’t the case. Its taste is decent enough. Thanks to Don for this rare find.
