Description
Pure Project is a small batch, ingredient-centric craft brewery with a mission to build community and a reverence for beer as an agricultural product by staying true to our ethos of quality ingredients, sustainability, and attention to detail.
To us, beer is art.

We believe every beer should tell a story; just like a world class meal, a perfect cup of coffee or a timeless wine, and we aim to bring that same level of passion, creativity and artistry to the ever evolving craft beer community.

We look forward to sharing our art with that movement by providing an experiential brand to give context to the beer in your glass.

Aromas are malt, citrus and a little bit of hops. Flavors are similar to nose, starts out mildly sweet to bittersweet to light ale finish. Full body and good carbonation. Okay but nothing special at all.

Poured up on tap at Tipsy where it exhibits a deep dark colored void of a body that supports a thin dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up big pulses if dark chocolate blended with hazelnut and peanut butter nuttiness. The taste delivers smooth dark chocolate melded into peanut butter and hazelnut like dry nuttiness. Nice. It carries the bold hazelnut nuttiness right into the finish. The only knock on this is the fairly thin feeling body. All in all a great experience.

500ml (thx, Ryan!) @ Salesforce. Appearance: almost black with a weak dark beige head. Aroma: American oak, sweet, some dark caramel and fruity notes. Taste: along the same lines, nice American oak, very smooth, some very nice liquid oak. Overall: very nice and one of the smoothest IS I've had in a while.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of fudgey cocoa, some bourbon, and some sugars -- not the most complex or integrated. Flavour is rich, with tons of treacly chocolatey fudge, plenty of bourbon, booze, and molasses. More integrated than the nose suggested, with plenty of bourbon and fudge. Good stuff.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Very dark brown with almost no beige head. Mild rye and regular bourbon barrel character, vanilla and marshmallow, fudgey chocolate, good, but not amazing.

On tap at Theodore, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of tangy, white wine-like hops courtesy of the NZ hops, with a crisp biscuity malt base. Flavour is much the same, with a vibrant gooseberry character, bitter white wine-like hops, some pine, and melon. Finishes crisp and nicely bitter. More assertively hopped than many IPAs out there. Excellent.

Tasters choice thanks Kelly and Dave for sharing. Dark amber with hints of garnet coming through and minimal head. Earthy dusty tart cherry and hints of lemon. Light tannin bits of citrus. Not bad.
