Taster at Rotary GroveFest. Well, when Craft Beer portion of the Beer Garden ended, and I was out of tickets, I helped some of the servers kick their kegs. So lucky I found this under these circumstances. An unsuspecting brown porter pour with a thin tan ring. Then it hit me with a big maple syrup nose. Taste is equally nice, fizzy maple syrup, but not overpowering or fakey. It's then that I caught the matching coffee note on the side. Alcohol comes in nicely. A great breakfast beer!

Aroma: roasted malts, burnt brown sugar, chocolate malts and vanilla. Taste: loaded with vanilla beans and brown sugar. Sticky palate. Next one please!

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a hazy orange gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates quickly. Strawberry, mikan and lychee on the nose. More of the same on the palate with more citrus, mango and lychee throughout. Balanced finish with some prickly pear and lychee that lingers.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige head that dissiapates. Big coffee focused nose with maple syrup as it warms. Thick and viscous on the palate with sweet maple syrup and bitter, roasted coffee notes abound. Quite bitter to my palate with an astringency/acridness that is definitely leaning towards negative enjoyment territory. I do like the maple throughout though.
