Bottle: Slightly hazy, pale golden coloured, almost a huge, fluffy white stable head; sweet-malty, a bit honeyish nose; robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, soft MF; first sweet and honeyish, later dry, lingering hop-bitter finish with well hidden alcohol. A very pleasant, extremely well balanced Doppebock, a franconian gem....... Completely underrated IMHO!

Bottle. Clear golden / yellow color with a average good lacing white head. Aroma is moderate malty and yeasty, flowers, perfume, fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Good balance. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Very nice helles doppelbock.

Draught, as Meinel-Bräu Pils. Clear golden colour, small white head. Nice, refreshing citric aroma. A little nice yeast flavour in aftertaste. The bitterness is clean but slightly rough.

Draught. Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Citric, but OK aroma. The flavour is fruity, naturtrüby and yeasty. Quite süffig.

Draught, as Meinel-Bräu Lager Dunkel. Clear brown colour, almost no head. Green apple flavour. Semi-sweet. Very slightly roasted and a little sour aftertaste. The carbonation is a bit high.

Bottle: Pale golden, very stable big fluffy head; clean sweet-malty nose with a mild, but distinctive floral hoppy touch; soft MF, light to medium bodied, the distinctive bitter taste is well balanced by a light malty body; soft, aromatic bitter-sweet finish, lingering a bit. A fine classic Pils, that really deserves this name...................

Bottle (Landbierdealer, Hof): Amber coloured, small, slowly diminishing off-white foam; caramelly, sweet-malty nose, a bit roasted; light bodied, sweetish (malty), also a bit bitter flavour; light malty-bitter finish. Pleasant, well balanced Dunkel, a bit on the light side.........

(bottle, with thanks to pivnizub) Clear, golden colour with a foamy white medium, stable head. Slightly dusty and sweet strawy malty aroma with herbal hops. Light bitter flavour, light to medium body, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Strawy malty taste with a touch of honey and light notes of vegetables; medium-dry, light bitter finish with shy notes of hops. Not very challenging.

Hefig, süß, leicht säuerlcih - im Grunde das Selbe wie bei den meisten, allerdings bietet sich dieses hier durch ausgesprochene Milde und Spritzigkeit als Sommer-Erfriscungsgetränk an. Der Abgang allerdings könnte länger und aromatischer sein - einziger Minuspunkt. Test vom 24.4.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 14,11,12,7,10,11 - 10,80

Wässrig und leicht malzig beginnt das Pils, im Mittelteil wird es hopfiger und ein würziger Ton gesellt sich hinzu. Im Abgang zwar bitter, jedoch nur wirklich schwach. Insgesamt zu schwach und zu wässrig. Test vom 21.2.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,8,9,8,9,8 - 8,50
