Meinel-Bräu Dunkel, Flasche von Getränke Hoffmann, Hof. - Das Dunkel vom Meinel heißt jetzt auch wieder so - der platte Anglizismus Dark Lager hat mir nie so recht gefallen. - Kupferrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase warm toastiges und dunkles Malz mit Brotkruste, feiner weinig-fruchtiger Note, Dörrobst und runder herbaler Hopfung: sehr gediegen. - Antrunk schlank aber gut röstig-toastmalzig mit gediegener herbal-hopfenwürziger Herbe, ein wenig Torf und Bitterorange. Milder rezent, leicht trocken; der etwas niedrigere Alkoholgehalt macht sich nicht bemerkbar. Im Abgang fein malzbitter und delikat hopfenherb. - Schönes fränkisches Dunkles mit tiefer Malzigkeit und feiner wenngleich milder Hopfung. (30.6.2022.)

Bottle 0.5 in Rome-Italy, grazie Daniele. Ancient gold pour, clear; frothy cap. Nose: chestnut honey and smoked provola cheese. Mouth: malty, sweet, honey, leads totally towards honey with a pinch of smoky. Not much of body or roundness, but clean.

Bottle from Meibier. Pale yellow, tall white head. Fragrant hoppy aroma. Light-bodied, pleasant malty bar and lots of floral, perfumy hops. Timid bitterness, but really fragrant and lovely.
