Description
Scotland has a deeply fascinating history when it comes to brewing and we wanted to pay homage to these roots when creating our name. Calton Hill Brewery in Edinburgh was the first brewery in Britain to create lager way back in 1835. The small suburb that the brewery called it’s home earned the name Cauld Toon as it sat directly in the in the cold shadow of Arthur’s Seat. Over time, this colloquially became Cal-ton. Carlton Hill could therefore be known as Cold Town Hill, and suddenly our name was born.

Keg at Cold Town House. Pours murky purple with no head. Aromas of raspberry and blueberry. Taste is fruity and light sour. Clean light sour finish.

Keg at Cold Town House. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of burnt rubber. Astringent and chewy. Burnt rubber finish. Not nice.

Keg at Cold Town House. Pours light hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of diacetyl, buttery lemon biscuit. Taste is light lemon and tropical fruit. Thin finish. Light sour too.

(Can) Pours clear golden with tiny head. Fruity aroma, predominantly passion fruit. Medium body, smooth, fine carbonation. Unusual and nice taste. Passion fruit and lactose. Pleasant bitter finish. Unusual and enjoyable.

330ml from Lidl. Golden in colour, with a slight, white, head. Big and jarring aroma of sweet red fruits, herbs and floral hops. Flavour settled down with some more fruit, solid manliness and some ripe sweetness in the finish. A pleasant one-off.
