About
Scotland has a deeply fascinating history when it comes to brewing and we wanted to pay homage to these roots when creating our name. Calton Hill Brewery in Edinburgh was the first brewery in Britain to create lager way back in 1835. The small suburb that the brewery called it’s home earned the name Cauld Toon as it sat directly in the in the cold shadow of Arthur’s Seat. Over time, this colloquially became Cal-ton. Carlton Hill could therefore be known as Cold Town Hill, and suddenly our name was born.

keg at the brewery... murky pink... thin white lacing.. soft tart citrus sour fruit... Light rhubarb nose... big sharp tart fruit.. Light strawberry.. Light acetic edge... but the lactic sour finish im not fond of

33cl can from flavourly. Note to Admins. Not 100% sure if this is the correct beer name but it's the same name as on Untappd. Thin white head. Clear golden pour. Light herbal aftertaste.

Can from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Salford. Golden with a small head. Sweet-fruity, with the passionfruit dominant in aroma and taste and giving the brew its pseudo-Martini character.

taster at brewpub. Light amber pour, cloudy, small fizzy white head. Light fruity, citrusy aroma. Taste is is citrus, soem floral nots and a bitterness that is a bit too sharp for the style.

taster at brewpub. So far, nothing has merited my attention. The corporate beer recipes seem to fit the brewpub style. Golden pour, small white head. Malty aroma and taste with a forced hop crispness that does nothing to add to the beer.

Taster at brewpub.Clear golden body, small white foamy head. Aroma and taste are simple grains and biscuit malts, mildly sweet with some grassy notes. Did not stand out.

Taster at Cold Town taproom. Golden pour with a small foamy white head. Grainy, malty nose. Taste adds a little hop bite to the malts, but not enough for me. Kind of bland.
