Keg at BD Seven Dials, 17/10/19. Deep mahogany brown with a tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is clove, fruit cake, brown sugar, dates, mixed spice, dried berry fruits. Taste comprises toasted brown sugar, fruit cake, spice, yeast esters, toffee, brown sugar, clove, dates, prunes, leather, berry skins. Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent quad ... weighs in well for the ABV.

Keg at Brewdog Soho. A light hazed chestnut brown coloured pour with a loose greyish head. Aroma is rich cakey malts, fig, Christmas pud. Tangy apple, cinnamon. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rich fruit cake, dense, pinch of salt, fruit cake, apple, cinnamon bun. Palate is semi sweet medium bodied, chewy, moderate carbonation. Good. Some warming alcohol in the finish.

Tap, at the brewery. Murky, deep chestnut brown. Huge, dense, lasting semi lacing, beige head. Nose has dried stone fruit. Some light roast malt. Hint of fruit and nut chocolate. Some brown sugar. Taste is sweet, sugary and vinous. Light, coffee bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. A little dry. Fine carbonation. Lingering vinous bitterness to finish. Really good.

Keg at BD Aberdeen. It pours opaque nearest black with a small beige head. The aroma is rich, sweet, oily, perfumed, glacé cherry, candy sugar, spice, nougat, berry, plum, dried fruits, tangy fruit cake and cola cubes. The taste is rich and toothy, slick, oily, toasty grain, loads of dark fruits, dried fruits, fruit cake, warming boozy vibes, glacé cherry, manhattan cocktail, earthy, toasted brown bread and tannin with drying out. Fulsome body and fine carbonation. A rich, fruity drop. Decent.
