bottle from Bacchus Crug Hywel/Crickhowell. Deep dark brown colour, cloudy, large and fluffy beige head. Aroma of malts and chocolate. Lively carbonation. Malty with lots of chocolate and banana, slightly hoppy in the finish. Strongly reminds me of a good German Dunkelweizen., in fact, it is rather similar to one.

Bottle from Bacchus, Crickhowell. Clear and russet coloured with a decent, off-white head. Bready malts aroma, with a hint of fruit and some earthy hops. Flavour was almost savoury, with doughy malts, a lick of red currant and big, bitter finish. Ok.

Cask-conditioned at the Clytha Arms, Monmouthshire 11/08/09. Deep, reddish amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. A beer dominated by sweetish, fruity malts with some lingering bitterness in the finish. Ok, if not hugely exciting.
