Bottle from restaurant at Brantwood. Appearance - copper to amber. Very thin head. Nose - a nuance of red fruit. Mainly cakey though. Taste - more cake, hint of sweet spice and dry orange. Palate - medium bodied, nice balance between sweet and bitter. Overall - not bad at all.

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - clear amber-ish. Quickly disappearing head. Nose - light gingery spice. Malt sweetness. Taste - more of the malt sweetness this time. The ginger is there but a little more subtle. Palate - light bodied, tangy and spicy through middle and finish. Overall - it's an alcoholic ginger beer.

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - amber with some lacing. Nose - ginger biscuits mainly. Taste - ginger cake this time. Palate - light to medium bodied with a dry tangy spice finish. Decent malt structure in the middle. Overall - decent. It's fairly dominated by the ginger but not a bad thing on this occasion.

Keg @ Good Sport, Grasmere. Hazy amber-brown, but more amber with a thin bubbly head and a strong nose. Has a strong hoppy taste.

Keg @ Good Sport, Grasmere. Pale hazy golden with a very thin head. It's mildly hoppy and mildly dry, with a crisp light sweet fruitiness.
