Description
Horus Aged Ales is a 100% barrel aged brewery located in Oceanside, California. We believe in pushing the boundaries on how much beer can evolve through resting in oak by using a variety of different wine and spirit barrels, adding exotic fruits, and fermenting spontaneously. The complexity of the beer portrays our passion for experimentation and patience required to produce such a unique beverage. Horus has been a decade long dream that is finally coming true and we look forward to introducing our exclusive beer to the fine people of San Diego County.

Bottle from a friend. Black with beige head. Loads of amburana in both taste and aroma. Some chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla and a bit of coconut. Too woody for me.

Bottle shared by a friend. Black with beige head. Loads of hazelnut upfront. Second sip is more hazelnut with some vanilla and coffee. Barrel is very subdued.

Bottle from a friend. Black with no head. Aroma is loads of coins/metal, oaky barrel, booze and liquorice. Taste is similar with some ash, chocolate and roast. Too metallic and too thin to hold the barrels.

Bottle from a friend. Black with no head. Aroma is oaky barrel, booze and liquorice. Taste is similar with some metallic coins ash, chocolate and roast. Quite a bit of blue cheese umami to it too. Too metallic and too thin to hold the barrels.

Bottle shared by friends. Black, slightly viscous, with beige head. Loads of maple, hazelnut, some vanilla, toffee, some coffee. Pastry for sure!

375ml bottle. Massive, thick and heavy with loads of maple syrup, nutty notes, coconut, cocoa, vanilla, bourbon, toffee, fudge, caramel and earthiness. Quite massive and intense pastry madness

375ml bottle. Sweetish and heavy with some creamy vanilla and syrup with some wheaty bourbon and hints of licorice. A bit unbalanced but not bad

12oz bottle pours out black topped with a brown head. Nose is nice sweet chocolate rich roast malts coffee bourbon barrel vanilla and hazelnut. Taste is as the nose nice chocolate hazelnut bourbon coffee.

Meadvent calendar 19. Deep dark red, clear, looks thick. Smell is sweet, lots of honey still, strawberry too. Sticky, nice thickness, some light alcohol warmth. Taste is sweet, getting quite some unfermented honey. Sweet summery strawberry jam. Too sweet.
