Last of the flight. Opaque, dark brown pour, thin ring of beige head. Mildly sweet aroma with a hint of booze. Taste is roasty and sweet, chocolate, coffee a mere accent, and mellow barrel notes. Boozy, but 10%? Pretty damn smooth

Taster flight at Notch 8. Cloudy golden pour, wispy head, tight ring. Aroma doesn't reveal much. Taste brings citrus peels flavors, oranges and grapefruit. Very subdued and way to easy to finish @ 8%.

Taster at the brewery. Pours a hazy, orange color, with a small, off-white head. The nose is butterscotch, light spruce, rose, and biscuit. Sweet and sugary, with a mild, grassy bitterness. Light to medium body, crisp, and clean. "Balanced", in that it is too sweet and lacks hop aromatics. Fair.

Taster at the brewery. Pours a clear, amber color, with a small, foamy, beige head. The nose is pumpernickel, cola, birch, caraway, and dough. Sweet and grainy, with a sticky, grainy bitterness. Light to medium body, sticky, and a little astringent. Weak and odd.

Roast and coffee. Some nice muskiness, a little cream. Black pour with great mocha head retention. Creamy consistency, low carbonation. The best beer I had here probably. Light bitter finish. Medium body. Tap at brewery.
