Description
In the beginning of 2014 a small adventure begun, a brand new microbrewery called ELIXI was born in the area of Chalkida. A microbrewery focused on the production of craft beer products characterized by the absence of pasteurization and filtration as well as with the use of the traditional way of fermentation inside the bottle.
A family business whose members come from completely different business backgrounds and experiences which can be shown in the diversity of the labels and brands produced.
Since the first moments of its operation has invested in the establishment of a new state of the art brewery in the area of Drosia in Chalkida. The selection of the location was based on the excellent quality of the local water as well as its geographical position near the main motorway of the country.
The premises cover an area of 1000m2 and house cutting edge equipment for the production, bottling and storage of products.
In March 2023, Sofoklis & George Panagiotou, owners of Septem Microbrewery, acquired Elixi, which is the second microbrewery operating in Evia.

0,33 l bottle from a liquor shop on the island of Kos. Pours out murky dark golden with a small white one finger head. Low malty smell with fruity background. Taste starts surprisingly intensive hopy. Short malt sequence, followed by increasing hop bitterness. Some Pine. Getting some sweetness to the end. Above aberage carbonation. Not bad at all.

Expensive looking 0,33 l bottle bought on the island of Kos. Pours out murky dark golden with an huge frothy head. Intensive floral hopy smell. Bitter malty taste, floral elements. High carbonated. Dry citrus fruity aftertaste. Not a typical Pilsener from my own german view but okay.

Bottle bought online from Maltby & Greek, drunk at home. Straw-coloured and hazy, with a big loose white head. Sweet grassy aroma with hard citrus and mint. Taste is a mess though. Bittersweet and soapy with a fruity medicinal flavour. Astringent saccharine aftertaste. Not too carbonated. Weird but not altogether bad.

33cl Bottle from greekbeershop.gr, enjoyed on Mykonos, as Delphi Triple Barrel Fermented. Hazy golden yellow colour, white head. Aroma of oak, Sorachi Ace, light barrel sourness, preserved lemons, sugar. Flavour of wood, oak, malts, some alcohol, light woody sourness, sweet lemon, more alcohol, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Tasty stuff, almost like a BA Saison.

33cl fancy bottle from greekbeershop.gr. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, toaster nuts, some coffee, lots of Belgian chocolate. Flavour also has plenty of roast, Belgian chocolate, praline, coffee, bitter finish. Medium bodied. A bit over-carbonated, but very tasty stout in my book.

Bottle at Hoppy Pub, pours black with a medium light brown head. Aroma brings out burnt roasted malt, and light earth. Flavour is deep, with burnt / roasted malt, with light earth and a hint of toasted crusty bread. Lots of depth to this. Very nice.
