(from the 2 Liter growler, with thanks to Vlad Dracul) Hazy, deep golden to amber colour with a tall and stable, slightly off-white foamy head. Distinctively grassy hoppy aroma with a touch of toasted malt and shy hints of caramel, combined with a delicately nutty touch. Slightly sweet and bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Nutty and slightly toasty malt-character with rising grassy hops towards the mildly bitter finish. A discreet and fine brew, might pair very well with corresponding dishes. 30.III.11

Malt and salt in the aroma. Malt and licorice in the flavor. Butter and salt. Hardly any bitterness. Still a tasty beer.

Bottle: Deep copper coloured, small stable off-white head; sweet honeyish-caramelly nose with a delicate toasty and hoppy background; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; increasing bitterness in the caramelly-hoppy finish, followed by a warming alcohol-burnin the drier hoppy aftertaste. Not too exciting, but all in all a very pleasnt brew....

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, brown colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Toasty malty aroma with notes of bread, caramel and vanilla, accompanied by a subtle dried fruity touch. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a pleasantly smooth carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly bready taste with caramel and hints of cacao; moderately sweet and slightly toasty malty finish with a balancing and slightly hoppy bitterness. Well-rounded Bock. 25.II.11

Had this as Jubiläumsbier for the 600 year jubilee of the city Velburg. Bottle looks great, beer in the glass dark, small head. Starts malty and dry, not to roasty, some hints of caramel. Finish well balanced, malty, modest spicy, quite drinkable. Good beer!
