Description
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, with three locations in St. Louis, is an unconventional-minded yet tradition-oriented brewer of craft beer. We like to call our unique brewing philosophy Beer Divergency - a 'new world meets old world' brewing approach wherein UCBC contributes to the 'revolution' of craft beer with artisanal creations of modern American beers, and pays 'reverence' to the heritage of beer with classically-crafted offerings of timeless European beer styles.

West coast IPA my ass. Sweet tea malt. Bitter hops, nondescript. Just a resin dry finish. Ni good hops, no good malts. A waste of my time.

Euro2-Flasche: Golden, cloudy, big and stable rocky off-white head; spicy Saazy (even though the hops come from the Hallertau) nose, traces of Wood and vanilla and yeast in the Background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, almost medium bodied, a bit fizzy; dryish lingering Hallertau finish, yeast still detectable. A fine brew...

16.9 oz bottle purchased at Lukas Liquors in Martin City, Missouri. The pour is hazed golden orange with a smaller white head. The aroma is wheat grain, clove and soft banana fruit. Traditional Hefeweizen nose. The taste is a clean blend of the clove, wheat grain, and soft banana fruit sweetness. Clean, mineral earth spice finish. Sweetness picks up some as it warms, though its clean and natural. The palate is light to medium bodied, unfiltered mouth feel and the clean finish. Nice traditional Hefeweizen.

Bottle. A lightly hazy one, dark golden in color and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is quite grainy, with some caramel and a fruity touch. Something nutty too, in a dusty, cellary way. Medium body, nice carbonation. Beef stock, caramel, some raisins and cellar and a decent fruityness in the flavor, lasting for a good while. Not much bitterness going on. A weird one, but with some interesting notes. 141219

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is a nice pine hop and you can get a whif of malt but Iβm not sure which one. Flavor is a nice hop with a cracker like dry malt. Itβs a decent beer where the hops really come out but I wish some of the grain used would make an appearance. Maybe too many malts fighting it out for supremacy? Still Itβs a low alcohol tasty beer.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is pine sol with a mix of herbs and spices. Flavor is an eye opening spruce with not much else. This was way heavy on the spruce tips. I did not know what spruce tasted like but I do now. Kinda needed to lower the spruce b/c thatβs all I got and then some. No way I could drink a lot of this without feeling overwhelmed.
