Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Pale gold in colour, with a decent, white, head. Plenty of floral hops, fresh pineapple and grapefruits, suggestion of pine, and crisp balancing malts, before a dry, hoppy finish. Very good.

355ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. The oily pour reveals a deep black body, a diminishing espresso head and clingy lacing down the glass. Aroma of grainy chocolate, hints of herbs. Blended flavour profile of dark bread, chocolate and caramel. Impact of molasses to the ending. Hidden alcohol. Fine bodied. Pretty nice sipper on a Saturday afternoon (at home in Tromsø, 12.11.2016).

Pours dark amber with a frothy head that does not last. Aroma is caramel and somewhat earthy. Taste is caramel malt up front with the pecan becoming more noticeable during the finish. Straightforward - there are no unexpected twists or turns here, good or bad. Reminds me of some of the nut brown ales I went through years ago in England. Body is overall just a touch too light for my liking. It’s not watery, but a more assertive profile would raise the rating. Overall, nice.

Bottle from Old Chicago. Caramel colored and clear, slight head and medium bodied. Not a hint of pecan. Little aroma, sweet malt taste and slight hops bitterness at the end. Not all that great.

$3.09 bottle from Market Street Wine Shop, Downtown. Day of loss... hoping for an Indians victory this evening. Pours deep orange with a small head. Aroma is funky: caramel candy, fish, fig. Taste is not the nicest either: fig, caramel candy, orange. Meh.

Trying this with a cold, soooooo. But with one nostril I detect a mild nutty aroma. Flavor is like a watered down brown. I only get a hint of pecan.
