Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent gold with some white bubbles. Mild smoky aroma. Near med body. Flavor is fairly light smoke with some cider. Comes across as smoky/mildly earthy/a little tart/some sweetness. Smoke is lightly coating my mouth. Drinkable, but probably not for anyone except smoked beer fans.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent, light amber with a few bubbles. Nice, rather complex aroma showing lots of skin. Med body, or close. It’s tannic/astringent, so much so that it suggests wood. And it is very dry. Nice change from many American ciders. Oh, and there are apple flavors!

Bottle from BevMo in Folsom, CA. Pours brassy gold. Nice, slightly sweetish, apple aroma. Near med body. It’s sweet, but also slightly tart. Somewhat mouth puckering/astringent. Not sure about melon, but it is demonstrating fruit notes. Exceptionally drinkable for a non-farmhouse cider.

Tenth rating, yesss! Bottle. Hazy deep golden amber color, few coaxable large bubbles that settle to an edge. Aroma of fleshy apple, pear. Taste is smooth lightly tart fruit with a lightly toasted edge. Tasty.

Bottle from the Davis Co-Op. Pours light gold with some white bubbles. Aroma of aged apples. Light nasal burn. Must be the hop? Med body. Flavor is tart apple with a little sweet mixed in. It’s nearly astringently dry. Yet there is a suggestion of sweet in the finish. Rather mouthsmacking. The hop is quite subtle - I can’t pick it out - yet I’ve never had this flavor in cider before - so the hop must be adding something. Gotta be one of the 10 best ciders I’ve had.

Bottle from the Folsom BevMo. Pours perry color with a transient white head. Very mild apple aroma. Fresh. Near med body. It starts fresh apple, then goes tart, which washes away to mild appleskin astringency. It has hints of fruit. Very tasty and refreshing.

Draught at Naked City, Seattle
Blond color. Nice aroma of Bourbon whiskey and pear. Quite dry cider, with low cider characteristics, and quite evident Marker’s presence, that doesn’t blend very well.
Messy.

500ml bottle. Pours with a medium pale, straw hued body. Not as pale as the sweet "blossom" cider, but shows less carbonation with a small white ring with not much activity on the sides of the glass. Aromas are a bit muted. Dry apple, sulfur, light tannin, manure, lemon zest. Some floral notes, light vanilla. Very dry, medium acid, medium sweet. Neutral overall balance. Light citrusy, but not zippy in the slightest. Kind of bland actually. Maybe very bland. Nicely dry, watery apple character with low complexity. Extremely clean. Low earthy character in the finish. Body is low, carbonation is distractingly unnatural, tannin is relatively low. Alcohol is decently controlled, but there is not much here overall. Clean, fine to drink, but boring. Thankfully its dry.

Bottle. Pours with a very pale hued body with a white head that fades to a ring. The ring lasts, reinforced by the carbonation rising up the sides of the glass. Some legs. Aromas are sweet and a bit sharp. Prunes, sweet, sharp esters. Medium sulfur, strong esters: notably isoamyl acetate. Grassy, lightly leather. Pear like, salt brine, pickling liquid. Some sort of vanilla or vanillin. Slightly sake like in its fruit and almost light umami presence. Flavors are sweet, not very balanced by acid or tannin. Sulfur. Dry apple. Kind of characterless. Sugary. Lacks complexity. It either need a lot more acid or a lot more tannin to balance the sweetness. There really is not a lot here. Clean, but not really good.
