Clear, re-corkable, round whiskey bottle format from Grapevine Beer. Filtered, bright, dark amber, intentionally still. Slightly toasted. Smells like a sugary mix of almonds & dates more than fruity fig. Bittersweet, almost like cooked down raisins, which makes sense. Salt, bit of consistent acid to coax it down, long half pithy finish. Low volatile. Full-bodied. Hot & smooth. Old-school, belly-warming stuff. Good stuff.

500ml glass bottle from Grapevine Beer & Wine. Low-ball glass back at the lodge. Oily 10k gold, intentionally still. Smell is fermented & unfermented honey. Floral, hot, tropical, a little sticky, a little waxy. Taste is watered down florals, like lavender/rose/honeysuckle, a touch of lemoncello, plus sticky residual unfermented honey. Subtle but lingering acid. Initially sweet, there's a lot of back loaded tannins that dry everything out extremely. Tiny bit of mint & wax as it all fades away. Okay to good.
