Two half pretzels later... Clear, copper, lingering froth. Dry cereal, astringent hops, slightly itchy malt nose. Stiff west coast bitterness, touch of cereal but not malty enough to be a red ale. Excellent dry & fruity-sharp finish. Thin, forced carb, medium high acid, bold. Strong ale wannabe with excellent, distinctive hops.

Half pint pour at the source on our last stop of the day. Clear, dark copper, everlasting milky head. Too cold to grab a good scent from the nose. Extra dry & faintly toasty malt, saltines, a twang of maple for some reason. Bittergreen & sort of harsh on the finish. Okay.

On tap before getting food at Eluvium. Pale gold pint, standstill scum. Stiff OG hop nose, obvious rice. Slight dank, thin malt, slightly sweet, aspirin bitterness. Crispy forced carb, a touch slippery. Been better, thanks.
