So, I've been traveling all day, so maybe my palate is of, but a hop bomb, maybe a bit too one-dimensional?

Bomber from La Riviera. Pours ruddy hazy brown with a large light tan head. Aroma is Brett, oak, somewhat toffee malt, and med dark or red fruit. Med body plus a bit. Flavor is lightly sour malt, with discernible Brett, musty wood and darkish fruits making this a candidate for Flanders sour/red brown ale. It is dry. It's not hoppy bitter. But the Brett and wood work for hop bitter. Fairly good stuff.

Waxed bomber from La Riviera. Pours hazy ruddy dark brown with a beige head. Aromas of rye and brandy. Full bodied or nearly. Flavors of rye, musty oak, and brandy. Sort of pre-oxidized taste that must come from the wood. Fairly dry. Arguably bitter in a moderate way, but I can't really parse out any particular hop. Really hits me pretty much like an old ale. Good stuff.
