Bottle. Pours with a massive, just off-white creamy head over a somewhat clear orange-gold body. Post rating: bumped up to a 5 for epic lacing..ring per sip. Aromas of orange, pine, citrus and tropical fruit. A bit of cotton candy and caramel, possibly some strawberries and I’d say a bit faded, not much ("fresh" bottle from Hollingshead). Flavors are a bit astringent (grain, not hop sadly), raw grape, hops, cereal, fruity, citrus, tropical fruit, strawberry. Bitter, but not all hop bitterness which feels off in the mouth. Lively, dry, bitter and astringent. Good, but there is some noticeable tannic extracted astringency that is keeping this from being a great beer.

Bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Light enough that you can tell that there is good clarity. Aromas are floral and a bit doughy. Bread, pine, molasses and toffee. Flavors are roasty, butter, astringent, pine, coffee and chocolate. Medium carbonation. Dry. Not very easy to drink.

Bottle, 22oz, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear, pale amber beer with a finger-thick off-white head leaving some lacings. The aroma has an underlying caramel sweetness, but it’s the hops that runs the show. Pine cones and grapefruit. Some peppery hints in the flavor, pine cones and grapefruit too, the malty sweetness are subdued but present. It’s full-bodied and semi-dry on the palete, finishing mostly bitter. A pleasant and tasteful IPA that I could easily drink a few of every now and then. 110319

Bottle. Pours with a hazed, deep bronze body with a large off-white head. Aromas of pine, orange, citrus, raw grain, raspberry, caramel, and a light astringent grain (tannic extraction) note. Flavors of bitter, nearly harsh grain tannic notes, caramel, ash and light fruit (citrus mainly). Not horrendous, but not well done. Lively bubbles. Dry.
