I always am pleased to locate an untasted domestic quadrupel. This 750 ml bottle of Quadrophonic is that opportunity. Found at a Total Wine in Orlando some weeks ago and brought home. My Buffalo Bayou snifter receives the pour, a dark mahogany body with a momentary, light brown-going-to-tan foam. I lift for the scent and get dark fruit and some yeast wafting up. Finally a drink, rather good. Raisins, figs, curiously some vinous quality, malt and white bread. A very decent approach to quads, no complaints from me.

I appreciate the nuances of various quadrupels, easily my favorite beer style. I have found adding flavoring of some kind tends to overwhelm those attributes. Iβm hoping Be Mine does not do that. I discovered a 750 ml bottle of this beer at a Total Wine on a trip to Orlando a month ago or so. Chilled now and ready to lift into my Straffe Hendrik snifter. It shows a light-for-a-quad brown in color and has a curious large-bubbled head that swiftly settles. I have a good smell, very encouraging, dates, dark fruit and bread dough. But it is the drink that is critical. Oh my, this is interesting. The cherry does show up but not too much of it. Malt, figs, toasted cereal, a hint of chocolate and curiously, cough drops. A very credible presentation.

750ml bottle from Tavour. Nose is honey, golden raisins, rose hibs, and a hint of caramel. Clear yellow orange with a big, lightly lacing, yellow tinged head. Flavor is sweet and fruity with a hint of cognac.

Damn fruity, I get more papaya than guava but still good, carby.

11.2 oz bottle, purchased from Total Wine somewhere near West Palm Beach. Poured a very slight hazy orange color with a fizzy, medium sized white head. Aroma was nice, light fruity notes, some light candi sugar. Light boozy notes. Peppery, with some funky yeast esters. Actually pretty pleasant.

750 ml bottle from Tavour. Bright golden pour with some orange hues, small bubbly head fades quickly. Aroma and taste come on like a tripel, big buttery, sweet notes. I'd have guessed a tripel for sure, but there's that huge alcohol presence. Slick and smooth. Apples and peaches, belgian yeast. I can not say enough good things about this beer.

On tap at 850 Craft Reserve. Pours a dark, opaque, orange color, with a small, beige head. The aroma is caramel, orange peel, black pepper, and wet grass. Not too sweet, with a sticky bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a sharp, hard mouthfeel. This is a yeasty, and a bit overhopped tripel. Not bad.

Pours very dark brown, nearly black, no real head. Smell is rather weak, mild sweetness. Taste is full, sweet, rather boozy, dark fruits, some Esther's. A quad in the style of Chimay bleu, which worked out very well. But I'm more of a Rochefort style myself.
