(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 9 Feb 2015) Reddish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with caramel, black-currant, blood orange and treacle toffee. Malty, fruity taste with notes of black-currant, caramel, blood orange and a generous citric, resiny bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Possibly a bit sticky and sharp, but quite tasty with a generous hop character. Nice one.

Keg at Flying Scotsman, Stockholm. Lightly hazy copper colour, rich creamy head. Fruity nose with grapefruit and coffee. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramel, coffee and syrup with pears and grapefruit on top. Really bitter finish. Better balanced and more refined than previous Macken releases IMHO.

Bottle at SBWF 2014. Almost clear ruby liquid with a small off-white head. Aroma of raw sugar, peat, toffee and caramel. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of peat and toffee. Medium to full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Maybe a bit misinterpreted style wise, but good.
