Ugly chunky slightly brownish purple colour, flat, murky. Smells sweeet, cakeish, fruit candy syrup. Thick and firm body, some relieving carbonation, chunky but not unpleasant. Taste is more sour than expected, but still sweet first. Lemony, random fruit.

Pretty good but kind of an Americanized version with the extra bitterness. Plenty of dark malt and some toffee, hint of molasses.

Pint can from Festival Northland, 2/3/22. Black, medium tan head, average retention. Aroma of roast, peppermint, coffee, earth, cocoa as it warms. Taste is roast, chocolate, peppermint, coffee, lactose. Full bodied, well balanced. Peppermint is appropriate and not overbearing. Nice beer.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a murky dark brown with a finger of tan head that lingers. Light cinnamon, maple and cream aromas on the nose. More of the same on the palate. Grainy texture with more faint cinnamon. Lots of cocoa powder notes. Chalky finish with light roast.

Really good dark lager with just great qualities of roast, cocoa, bitter and sweet. Bounced with good carbonation. Very nice beer.

Can from Lone Star. Ice tea glass back at the lodge. Gloopy, fresh apple cider look; sticky lace. Sticky apple sauce & vanilla scented granola are the main players. Slight grape sour edge. Bittersweet, leaning heavily towards sweet. Heavy vanilla yogurt, apple slices, lime, golden raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon syrup & granola. Medium tart, plenty acidic to contrast how very sweet it is. Thick & syrupy but very enjoyable.

Can. A- Muscovado sugar, caramel, mild cinnamon. A- Brown color, dark liquid, minimal fizzy head. T- Brown sugar, sweet, caramel, cinnamon. P- Medium body, thin texture, medium carbonation, sweet finish. O- Meh. This was labeled as an imperial brown ale. Hardly. Quite sweet and kinda reminded me of cinnamon toast crunch cereal.
