Description

Ceramic mug. Thick head. Looks dark. Smells quite minerally, maybe even mushrooms and sulphur. Not bad, but definitely strange. Soft malty with maybe a light caramel accent. The finish has a minerally dryness. Characterful.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also, quite dark, fine foam. Tastes unexspected dry and metallically. Much too hard, not spicy enough. Not good.

(bottle) Hazy, effervescent orange-golden hue with a big and dense, slightly off-white foamy head. Light-sweet, yeasty and slightly fruity (citrus, apricots) and cara-malty aroma with a whiff of barnyard. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-matured, soft carbonation. Yeasty-fruity, slightly cara-malty taste; slightly yeasty, bitter-sweet finish with delicate herbal hoppy notes. Pleasant to drink and well-crafted Zwickel (23.05.08).

Bottle: deep golden, a bit unclear, quite stable and lacy white head; malty, a bit burnt-malty aroma with both fruity-yeasty and hoppy traces; soft MF, moderate, clean bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; slightly lingering bitter-sweet finish. Unspectacular brew, but clean and well crafted.......

Draught at the brewpub: Pale golden, nearly clear, firm creamy white head; shy wheaty-fruity nose with a faint, but distinctive touch of herbal hops and a touch of barnyard, too; moderate sweetish flavour, but also hoppy, light bodied; bitter-barnyardy traces in the fruity-sourish finish. Interesting, rural Weizen.........

Draught at the brewery’s restaurant. Weak banana aroma, some citrus, not that good. Hazy orange colour. Small white head. The flavour is OK refreshing, mostly citrus with the banana showing itself mostly in the aftertaste.

Draught at the brewery’s restaurant as Reichold Kellerbier Zwick’l. Yeasty aroma, some raw meat? Smells OK, though. Hazy dark copper colour. Big stable creamy white head. The flavour is quite fruity, OK malty with a little paper note. Slightly sweet, good mouthfeel. Low bitterness.
