Draft: Poured a burgundy brown with a tan head. Aroma is huge woody, oak, vinous, molasses, cherry, malty. Taste is tart forward, woodsy, cherry, vinous. Sticks on the tongue tad vinegary, but in a good way.

16 ounce can from Peddlers Village taproom. Number one with a bullet. Opaque dark brown color. Bubbly tan head dissipates down to a scant ring. Roasted malt nose is redolent of raspberry and chocolate. Flavor follows nose. Lots of chocolate, lots of raspberry and notes of sticky sweetness from the lactose. Some booziness on the backend. Flavors develop as brew warms. Tasty.

250 ml can from Lahaska Taproom. Rating number 5,300. Opaque dark brown color. Virtually no head. Earthy roasted malt aroma has a hint of oak and vanilla. Bittersweet chocolate and vanilla flavors right out of the gate. Then, some oakiness followed by warming alcohol notes. Very low carbonation. Soft and silky on the palate. Amazingly rich and complex. Definitely a brew to blipped slowly and savored.
