At a tasting, thanks Tom C, small stable creamy bubbly head, hazy orange colour, light citrus and malt aroma with some yeast and wood, light bready flavor which becomes stronger in time, with a light metallic bitterness, light body. Not interesting and not true to the style.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Tom C. Hazy deep golden. Hoppy aroma of tropical fruits, a zesty note, flowers, a soapy note and a malty touch. Dry-ish flavor with a bit of malt sweetness, fruity hops and moderate bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Bottle at home in Salisbury, CT - picked up at New Beer in NYC. Pours lightly unclear, shiny gold with a rich, frothy off-white head. Some bready malts on the nose with hints of crystal and caramel, also hoppy notes of ripe orange and sticky pine. Medium sweet flavor with resinous hops, some grainy bread, earthy and piney bitterness, some graham cracker and toasted caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with moderate sweetness, some toasted malts, nips of caramel, juicy and sticky pine, slight marmalade, orange, melon, a bit of dirty grass. Not bad overall.

8oz pour at Al’s of Hampden pours a clear amber with zero head. Nose has all coffee, mild caramel, brown sugar, but just lots of Folger’s. Flavor has more sugar than the nose lets on, caramel, brown sugar and... coffee. Some rootbeer too. Sweet finish.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a medium sized foamy beige head faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was brewed coffee, a bit of vanilla, malty and somewhat sweet. The flavor was bad brewed coffee. Other flavors tried to come through but kept getting squashed by the overbearing bad brewed coffee presence. Unfathomably long finish - which in this case was not a good thing. Medium body. Not good.

Draft at Al’s. Hazy golden straw color. This one is very fruity with a decent amount of barnyard funk.
