Description
Schnitzer was founded in 1968 by the dentist Dr. Schnitzer, who made the wholesome food philosophy available for a large part of the population through products and literature. Since 2000 Schnitzer has dedicated itself to sensitive eating with a focus on gluten free nutrition. Some thing special out of the gluten free range of Schnitzer is the liquid bread - Schnitzer brew. After a development time of two years Schnitzer could bring a beer on the market in 2006, which is free from gluten by nature and nevertheless as tasty as the original!

Test vom 22.11.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,7,8,7,11,7 - 7,55

I don’t see the purpose of this beer, or as they call it: "alcoholic beverage, brewed from millet malt" (translated from German). If you are allergic to gluten, or have another reason to stay away from them, but want to drink something that resembles pils, drink the normal Schnitzer Bräu. If you stay away from gluten, but want something lemony and not really like beer, drink a soda of some sorts. I’m sure there are better options around than this brew. Straight down the drain. Clear golden colour, white head with rather large bubbles, mostly diminishing. On the positive side: this is a drinkable brew. I imagine it is important to have glutenfree drinks available which do not contain gluten and are drinkable, for the obvious target group that has an allergy for, or other reasons to stay away from beer that contains gluten. On the downside: I can’t think of any reason why one would regularly drink this beer if gluten are not a problem to you. The beer is cloying, bit too sweet, no noticable hops, watery, basically almost, but not quite, entirely unlike a fine german pilsner. (from 0,33L bottle)

Less than a mediocre cyclist, not more. Drinkability is still okay, but not taste of beer, even after Lemon

Bottle. Sweet lemon juice and millet aroma. Slightly hazy yellow color with small head. Sweet lemon and light millet malt flavor. Medium body. Not really a traditional beer flavor but not bad.

Good, just yellowish head over well-carbonated, pale yellow beer. Vegetables and (vegetable) frying oil, old shoes, ... very un-beerlike aroma’s. Again frying oil in the flavour, watercolour paint, something vaguely perished... Sticky, oily MF; light and watery. Ugh! The Germans can’t brew glutenfree neither...
